Establishment:

The Department of Botany was established with in the inception of the college in 1973, The College was started with a view to cater to the needs of women, especially coming from rural areas.

Combination:

Botany is one of the major subjects in I, II and III year B.Sc, B.Z.C Courses. The subject combination with zoology and Chemistry respectively. The subject has been teaching in Telugu medium only.

The course fee for three years is 5433/- for each student-. Total of 183 students have been enrolled in three years, the teacher and the student ratio is 1:61.

Students Profile:

The students are coming from different social and economic backgrounds. Majority of the student are belonging to the local business community and some of them are employees’ children. Even though they are economically poor, they are good and enthusiasm in studies. All the students are thirst of knowledge and attending regularly to the classes. They have been participating very actively in the seminars, meetings and group discussions with whole hearted involvement.
