ABOUT KADAPA:

Kadapa is one of the sprawling cities in Andhra Pradesh. It is now a contemporary city standing in contrast with the ancient and historical ones. The city is surrounded on three sides by the Nallamala and Palakonda Hills. “Kadapa” got its name from Telugu word ‘Gadapa’ which means threshold. The city has many prominent places in and around that are worth visiting. The beautiful architecture of the temples and other monuments that still adorn the region stand as the evidence for the rich heritage and culture of the bygone days. There is a fort in Gandikota standing for ages, a place not to be missed. T There is also a number of educational institutions in Kadapa, prominent among them are Yogi Vemana University and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical and Dental Sciences.

ABOUT SKR & SKR Govt. Degree College for Women:

.K.R. & S.K.R. Government College for Women, Kadapa, was established in the year 1973, with three year degree courses like B.A., B.Com, and B.Sc., which were purely conventional courses. As the college is situated in the heart of the town, it is a great advantage for girls especially Muslim girls to get higher education. It has been growing steadily in strength and academic programmes and has been effectively catering to the needs of all sections of society with a low fee structure.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh with great foresight introduced need-based courses in the year 1998. Then a variety of restructured courses and combinations were started in this college. Ever since the staff of this college have been working to make the institution truly a center of learning and excellence that could deliver a goods in the competitive world of educational enterprise.

The staff and students of this college thank the Commissioner of Collegiate Education (CCE), A.P., who encouraged and supported us to face the tough tests offered by the evaluating body. They also thank all others including donors to various causes in the college and the elite of the Kadapa District, who have been encouraging them in this endeavor.
