National Service Scheme

1.History of the department:
National Service Scheme was launched in the country on 24th September 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, to establish a link between the Student community and the Society. The scheme was initiated to inculcate the spirit of social service in the student a community and using the youth potential for the rural upliftment. It is a noble exercise in Academic Extension.
            The National Service Scheme, as an academic extension activity was started in 1973 in our college. Since then, the NSS activities are undertaken successfully year after year involving the women students in community work.
There is one unit in the college. The strength of the unit is 100. The second unit has sanctioned for this academic year.
AIMS:

  • To work with / among people
  • To engage in creative and constructive social action
  • To enhance his / her knowledge of himself / herself and the community
  • To put his / her scholarship to practical use in mitigating at least some of

the problems.

  • To gain skill in the exercise of democratic leadership.
  • To gain skills in programme development of enable him / her for self-employment.
  • To bridge the gap between the educated and uneducated masses.

    8. To promote the will to serve the weaker section of the community objectives

communal harmony and International Day of Non-Violence
